Customize your sidebar

En este artículo de ayuda

Your sidebar comes ready to use. If you want it to match the way you work, you can change what's in it, add and remove tabs, and put anything back the way it started.

Your sidebar is made of tabs. Each tab holds the following things:

  • Shortcuts that create or open something, like New page, New chat, New AI meeting note, New database, New agent, My Tasks, and Library.

  • Sections that list your content, like Chat history, Upcoming meetings, Recents, Favorites, Teamspaces, Shared, and Private.

You can show, hide, and reorder both, in any tab. Each tab can hold up to 25 shortcuts and 25 sections.

A few parts stay put. Your Inbox is always in the top-right corner, and your workspace switcher is always at the bottom. Everything in between is yours to arrange.

  1. Open the tab you want to change.

  2. Click on the tab again, then select Customize sidebar. You can also right click anywhere on the sidebar to enter customization mode.

  3. Turn items on or off to choose what shows up.

  4. Drag an item up or down to change its order.

Hiding a shortcut or a section only changes your sidebar. It doesn't delete anything, and it doesn't change what your teammates see.

Add a tab for work you come back to often, like meetings or a project. Remove the tabs you never open.

  • To add a tab, select + next to your tabs, then pick what the tab should hold. You need to enter customization mode first before the + button appears next to the tabs.

  • To delete a tab, click it again once it's the open tab, or right-click it, then select Delete tab.

Removing a tab doesn't delete any pages. You can add the tab again whenever you want. Your sidebar can have up to six tabs. You can't delete your last tab.

If you check the same database view every day, put it in your sidebar so it's one click away.

  1. Open the database and go to the view you want.

  2. Click on the database view tab.

  3. Select Add view to sidebar. The view is added to the tab you have open, so switch to the tab you want before adding it. Each tab can hold up to three pinned database views.

The view keeps its filters and sorting. If someone changes the view later, your sidebar shows the change too.

You can keep a page in your sidebar without adding it to Favorites.

  1. Click on the tab you want to add this shortcut to.

  2. Select Customize sidebar.

  3. Select Add shortcut.

  4. Select the page you want to add a shortcut to.

Tip: Use Favorites for the pages that matter most across all of Notion. Use a shortcut when you only need the page handy in one tab, like a doc you're working in this week.
