Remove a workspace from your organization or contract

There are two separate actions you can take related to a workspace in your organization:

1. Remove a workspace from your Org Console: This disassociates the workspace from your organization in Notion’s admin console. The workspace will no longer appear under your organization’s Workspaces list, and organization-level settings and controls will no longer apply to it. Removing a workspace from your Org Console does not automatically remove it from your contract or stop billing.
   

2. Remove a workspace from your contract: This removes the workspace from your billing agreement with Notion. You'll no longer be billed for that workspace under your contract. This is a separate step from removing a workspace from your Org Console, and must be requested directly through [email protected] (or through your sales contact).

To remove a workspace from your Org Console:

1. Open the workspace switcher and select Manage organization.

2. Go to the General tab.

3. Select the Workspaces tile to see all workspaces in your organization.

4. Find the workspace you want to remove and select ••• next to it.

5. Select Remove from organization and confirm.

Once removed, that workspace will no longer be managed by your organization’s settings. Its workspace owners will regain full control of their workspace settings.

To remove a workspace from your multi-workspace contract and stop billing for it, you need to contact Notion directly ([email protected]). This can't be done through the Org Console.

To request a workspace removal from your contract:

1. Locate the Workspace ID for the workspace you want to remove. To find it, open the workspace, go to Settings → copy the Workspace ID shown there.

2. Contact Notion and include:

   • Written confirmation that you want to remove the workspace from your contract

   • The Workspace ID

   • The name of your organization and the workspace

3. Notion will process the request and confirm once the workspace has been removed from your contract.

Tip: Before requesting a removal, make sure you’ve also removed the workspace from your Org Console (if applicable) to ensure organization-level settings no longer apply to it.
