Manage your inbox with Notion Agent

In diesem Hilfedokument

Ask Notion Agent to catch you up, triage, and clear your Inbox, without manually reviewing every notification.

Instead of scanning and triaging everything in your inbox yourself, you can ask your Notion Agent to read your notifications, summarize what needs attention, group them, and take action - all from a chat.

This works alongside your existing inbox. Notion Agent can help you triage it, but the inbox remains your source of truth for notifications.

You can prompt Notion Agent directly from your inbox:

  1. Open your Inbox from the top of the sidebar.

  2. Click the Notion Agent icon to have your Agent prioritize your notifications. The results will appear in a chat.

You can also ask your Notion Agent about your Inbox from any chat, not just from within the inbox.

Once you prompt your Notion Agent, it can:

  • Read your notifications - summarize what's new, what needs a reply, and what can be cleared.

  • Group notifications - organize by notification type, by read status, by project, or by page.

  • Mark notifications as read or unread.

  • Archive or unarchive notifications - including bulk archiving (for example "Archive everything I've already read").

You can ask your Notion Agent questions that require context, like finding all notifications tied to a specific project. Try these prompts:

  • Are there any notifications related to [project name]?

  • Summarize what needs my attention.

  • Group my notifications by project.

  • Group by notification type.

  • Group by read status.

  • Archive all my read notifications.

  • Show me all @mentions from this week.

You can ask Notion Agent to group your inbox notifications by:

  • Notification type - @mentions, comment replies, page invites, reminder alerts.

  • Read status - unread vs. already read.

  • Project or page - to see all updates related to a specific area of your workspace.

There are some notification types Agent can't act on:

  • Embedded approval and access-request workflows - Notion Agent can surface these notifications, but can't approve, deny, or complete the action on your behalf.

  • Notion Agent can't create new notifications or change your notification settings.

  • Start broad, then narrow. Ask "What's new in my inbox?" first to get an overview, then follow up with specific actions like archiving or grouping.

  • Use grouping to prioritize. If you have a lot of notifications, ask your Agent to group by type or by read status so you can focus on @mentions and replies first.

  • Bulk archive to keep things clean. Once you've reviewed everything, ask your Agent to archive all read notifications to keep your Inbox tidy.

  • Agent results appear in chat. Notification results and actions show in the Agent chat transcript (they’re not buried in output), so you can see what your Agent did and act on it inline.
