The Notion Mail inbox is shutting down on September 22, 2026. Here's what you need to do before then 📨
Hopp til vanlige spørsmålNotion Mail is shutting down on September 22, 2026. Most of your data (like emails in your inbox) will stay in Gmail, but a few things live only in Notion Mail. You'll need to save or export them before the shutdown.
Starting June 25: Export your Notion Mail-only data through the app or on web.
September 21: Last day to save anything you want to keep.
September 22: Notion Mail shuts down. Any data you haven't saved will be permanently deleted.
Some data lives only in Notion Mail. Here’s what you’ll need to export by September 21, 2026:
Drafts: Migrate email drafts to Gmail.
Scheduled emails: Migrate scheduled emails to Gmail.
Snippets: Export snippet content to use it elsewhere.
Auto label instructions: Export auto label instructions to use elsewhere.
Nothing changes if you're already using Notion agents for email, or you've connected Gmail or Outlook to Notion. These will continue to run:
Gmail AI Connector: Search Gmail and draft replies with Notion AI.
Mail blocks: Any email blocks you’ve already added to Notion pages stay intact.
AI agent mail tools (Gmail): Agents that can read, draft, and send email via Gmail.
Notion Mail always synced two ways with Gmail, so every email you received or sent in Notion Mail also exists in your Gmail inbox. When the Notion Mail inbox shuts down, your email history will stay exactly where it is in Gmail.
A few things are specific to Notion Mail and can't be moved to another app:
The way your inbox was organized. Custom views and sorting you set up in Notion Mail won't transfer to Gmail.
Files attached to snippets. If a snippet had a file attached to it, you'll need to download it manually before September 22, 2026. Go to Notion Mail →
Settings→Snippetsto find these.Email reminders. Reminders set on emails in Notion Mail won't transfer to Gmail.
If you used Notion Mail with a team or regulated setup
If your organization uses Notion Mail in a regulated environment (for example, with compliance requirements), you may need to transition off earlier than the general shutdown date.
If you rely on HIPAA coverage, you should plan to transition off Notion Mail by June 30, 2026. This means you should export any Notion Mail–only data (like snippets and auto label instructions) before you transition.
If you’re not sure whether this applies to you, check with your organization’s admin or compliance team.

Your existing synced email databases and views (including any filters you’ve set up) will remain in Notion, and you’ll still be able to access the emails that were already synced. However, after September 22, 2026, new emails will no longer sync into those databases, so the views will stop updating with new messages.
