A simple rule of thumb is that if youโd correct the same Notion Agent behavior twice, add it to your Instructions.

Think of Instructions as your "default mode" that you want every AI response to follow.
Start with what you want, not what you donโt want.
Be specific. If you have a formatting preference, describe it (for example, "use bullet points, not paragraphs").
Keep it short. You can always add more later.
Revisit your Instructions page periodically as your preferences evolve.
Because Instructions are pages, sharing works the same way it does for any other Notion page.
If you share your Instructions page, it does not automatically change anyone elseโs Notion Agent. They need to set it as their own Instructions.
