Notion AI LEAP FAQs

Picture yourself as the new manager of a restaurant, and you want to attract new customers. By dining at the restaurant, getting to know your staff, and studying the menu, you’ll become better in your role. We want to make Notion AI work the same way. At Notion, we believe AI ought to be more than just an interesting toy — but rather, a genuinely useful tool for your day-to-day work.

LEAP (Learning and Early Access Program) makes Notion AI more helpful, by exposing our models to real-world data, use-cases, and problems. As a thank you for participating, joining LEAP puts you at the front of the line for future AI improvements and features.

Our global community is always finding new ways to use Notion, from simple notes to complex project planning. By observing and understanding these use-cases, the Notion AI team team can use this content to identify areas for improvement and understand what we’re doing well and not so well. Our team is continuously using this information to enhance the capabilities of our models to make Notion AI even more useful and efficient for our users.

What does this look like in practice?

We’ll retain data from this workspace to be shared with Notion and use it to improve and evaluate our AI models. Examples include ensuring that the Assistant is taking the correct actions in response to a user request, debugging cases where Notion AI can’t respond, and figuring out which capabilities to add next.

Workspace owners and admins need to allow data from across the workspace to be shared with Notion.

1. Go to Settings in your sidebar.

2. Under Workspace, select General.

3. Toggle on Share data to improve Notion AI.

You can opt out of sharing your workspace data with Notion at any time. To do this:

1. Go to Settings in your sidebar.

2. Under Workspace, select General.

3. Toggle off Share data to improve Notion AI.

Afterwards, no new data from your workspace will be retained.

1. Who can participate in the Early Access Program?
   This program is limited to a select number of participants at the moment that showcase a range of different types of Notion users. We’ll expand this program as the need increases.

2. Is this program on a per user or per workspace level?
   This program will be on a per workspace level so the workspace owner or admin must be the one to approve this program and will have the option to toggle on or off this setting.

3. How is my data used in the Early Access Program?
   Your workspace data and interactions with AI will allow our team to review different use-cases and provide new capabilities for Notion AI.
   
   Notion takes your security and data privacy seriously. On top of our existing security and data privacy infrastructure, we’ll take steps to anonymize your data and remove sensitive information. We’ll then use this to evaluate our models to provide more accurate responses and improve our capabilities.
