About this template

Having a distinctive brand voice is crucial for standing out and connecting with your audience. If you're looking to define or refine your organization's brand voice, hosting a brand voice workshop can be an effective strategy. This Brand Voice Workshop Notion template was designed and tested to streamline the process of identifying your brand’s voice and establishing guidelines to stay consistent.

The template provides a step-by-step structure, timers, and interactive elements to guide you through the process.

1. Set the Stage with a Check-in Question: Start with a check-in question to foster a supportive environment and allow everyone to connect on a personal level.
2. Dive into User-Centered Thinking: To ensure your brand voice resonates with your target audience, it's essential to understand their needs and emotions. Set a 5-min timer and prompt participants to jot down words or phrases that describe how users might feel before and after interacting with your organization's content.
3. Define Your Brand Voice: Now that you have a deeper understanding of your users, it's time to define your brand’s voice. Set another 5-min timer and prompt participants to write down adjectives that describe how they want the organization to sound. After the timed brainstorming session, ask participants to vote on their top three adjectives.
4. Summarize and Consolidate: It is important to consolidate the ideas and summarize your brand voice. Ask participants to identify three traits that represent what your organization IS and three traits that represent what it is NOT. Next, craft a "because" statement for each set of traits.
5. Reflection and Action: A dedicated reflection period creates space for participants to reflect on how the workshop will inform their perspective on future projects.
