What are Notion credits?

Notion credits are an add-on for Business and Enterprise plans. They’re shared across your workspace and let you run Custom Agents, Workers, and additional Notion AI usage beyond the usage allowance.

If you manage billing in-product, admins can purchase credits and track usage in the Notion credits dashboard. If you work with an account team, they can help you estimate credit needs and review credit options.

There are two types of Notion credits you can buy: monthly and annual. The type of credit you can purchase is tied to your core subscription plan. Users on monthly plans can buy monthly credits, users on annual plans can buy annual credits.

Monthly credits are a good fit if your workspace uses a steady amount of credits each month, like Custom Agent workflows with predictable usage. They’re a lower-cost option compared to annual credits, and unused credits reset each month.

Annual credits are a good fit if you want flexibility across the year, like usage that ramps up, spikes, or varies between teams and quarters. They’re also useful for experimentation and time-bound projects. Because you can use annual credits anytime during your subscription year, they work well as a flexible pool alongside monthly credits.

Monthly credits cost $10 per 1,000 credits per month, and can be adjusted each month based on your needs.

• You can purchase anytime. If you run out of credits before the next reset, you can buy more mid-cycle to keep features running. You’ll get the full amount right away, and credits aren’t prorated.

• Credits reset monthly. Your credits reset to the amount you purchased. Unused credits don’t carry over to the next month.

• Adjust credits month to month. Admins can adjust the purchased amount up or down each billing cycle to match actual usage. Decreases take effect at the start of the next month.

• Credits are billed monthly. For monthly subscribers, Notion credits are billed alongside your monthly subscription.

Annual credits cost $13 per 1,000 credits. Admins on annual Business or Enterprise plans can buy annual credits.

• You can purchase anytime. The full annual amount is available as soon as you buy. Any additional annual credits are billed right away and expire at the same time as your existing annual credits.

• Change your amount. Admins can raise or lower the annual credit amount at any time. Increases take effect immediately. Decreases and cancellations take effect at your next renewal.

• Monthly credits are used first. If your workspace has both, Notion uses free credits first, then monthly credits, then annual credits.

• Annual credits expire when your subscription renews. They last until the end of your current subscription year, even if you buy them partway through. Unused credits don't carry over. If you buy annual credits late in your subscription year, they still expire when your subscription renews. They don’t last a full year from the purchase date.
