Auditing the sidebar

Learn what content belongs on the sidebar, and begin filing top-level pages into their relevant teamspaces.

Auditing the sidebar

- The sidebar in Notion is a crucial tool for navigation and should be kept clean and organized.
- Pages in the sidebar should either be company-wide resources or team/organization home pages, and any pages that don't fit these categories should be moved elsewhere.
- Personal pages and untitled documents do not belong on the sidebar.
- Documents that haven't been viewed or edited in the past year, or that are relevant only to a small group, should also be removed from the sidebar.
- Once the sidebar content is finalized, it can be polished for design and readability, such as by color-coding teamspaces.

Mission

Notion's Customer Success team has put together a Notion template to accompany this course. Duplicate it into your own Notion workspace and use it to follow along with the steps of the course as you refresh your own workspace.
